Personal Success – Escaping Escape Pods

22 May 2016

We all find escape pods to run to, as life gets tough. I see people running to escape pods all the time. So do I. We do not realise escape pods around us, but they exist. Some come in the shape of new friends, some in the form of new passions, or new skills we wish to acquire. Some of these escape pods actually help ; they either help us regain confidence, self esteem and the ability to lift our head back. So, escaping in one of these temporarily, to bounce back is good. Yet, some of these escape pods become what they are, escape pods. They divert and distract us from facing the core issue, the core challenge, the core actions we need to put in to succeed. Just like an escape pod in space, we drift away from the core. We feel safe, secure, diverted. The focus of success shifts. They create a false sense of accomplishment , because transactions closed in that new escape pod start filling the need for achievement, just that we are succeeding elsewhere. Getting out after that small success, and getting back to what you were escaping is important. Look around and you will surely find that one escape pod you are stuck in. Step out of it and you will realise what really matters, what should really take your time, and what real satisfaction and success should mean to you.
